Dear Coaches, Mentors:
First, I want to thank the 150+ volunteers, test writers, reviewer, and our host, CWU, led by Dannica Price, for making this season and the state tournament possible.
After a rigorous process of score review, we finalized the tournament score and ranking today. The official score with our unique handling of First-Place Qualifier is posted: Div B and Div C.
For Division B, our first place winner is Evergreen MS Phoenix. The runner up is Skyridge MS Arceus. Our first place in Div C is Telsa STEM HS Aurora. The runner up is Interlake HS Sine.
Representing WA state at the National Tournament will be Evergreen MS, Skyridge MS (Div B), and Telsa STEM HS (Div C). It is unlikely that WA will receive a second bid for Div C. If anything changes we will notify the coaches immediately. Let’s congratulate and support these teams, wishing them representing WA state well at USC.
Coach and student feedback
We are looking for feedback from all participants to help us improve on the state tournament next year. We are not perfect, and there is always need for more volunteers to help us with tournament. Please share this survey with all your students and mentors:
I want to remind everyone that many volunteers spent countless hours to make this tournament happen. In particular I want to thank David Rosi for leading the day-of arbitration, the entire scoring team and director team, and especially Simon Lie, Edie Lie, and Scott McComb. They led an independent adjudication on all score inquiries, especially for Div-B where the 2nd and 3rd place finishers are so close. Their hard work ensured that preliminary results were verified and all coaches’ inquiries are adequately addressed by the deadline (5PM today).
Thank you all!
