To all Div C coaches:
What an exciting past three weeks to conclude our regional tournaments! We have 72 teams competing across three regions to determined the 23 teams that will advance to State.
For those who advanced, congratulations and good luck in your preparation. The board and our hardworking event supervisors can’t wait to see you in Ellensburg on April 18th!
For ALL the coaches and competitors, thank you for your hard work in supporting and participating in Science Olympiad. I hope it is a great experience and hope you are returning next season!
For graduating seniors, there are a couple of opportunities I would like the coaches to share:
1. National has a Founder's scholarship that is due April 13th for all senior competitors. You can find more information here: https://www.soinc.org/programs/scholarships
2. One of the UW volunteers at North Seattle College Regional shared the following opportunity with me and encourage me to share with your students:
The Seattle ASCE YMF (Young Member Forum) is currently offering a scholarship of up to $2000 for any HS senior planning attending a 4-year institution pursuing a STEM degree. More information can be found at https://www.seattleasceymf.org/
The application is due June 1st, and form can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Wv-GfpAEdmlV9dLIiTcKJNwo2YM5-gyH/view
Finally, for all students, we encourage them to apply if they are interested to serve as student advisors and expand outreach of WA Science Olympiad. This season’s growth and success would be impossible without the many volunteers who wrote tests, hosted/organized Invitationals, crafted outreach brochures, shared news on Social media.. all three student advisors who were elected last year played leadership roles in these. Please share the application form below to all those who may be interested!
