Washington Science Olympiad is an almost entirely volunteer-driven organization dedicated to nurturing the next generation of scientists and innovators. Our mission is to bring a unique, hands-on science program to schools across Washington State, inspiring students to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
We fulfill our mission by running exciting tournaments and hosting engaging workshops, offering students the chance to tackle real-world scientific challenges. Our enthusiastic volunteers work tirelessly to organize these events, mentor students, and foster a vibrant community of learning and discovery. However, to keep our programming thriving, we depend on the generosity of donors like you.
Volunteers can contribute by directly contribute or log hours through employer’s matching program, via Benevity (search for Washington Science Olympiad, EIN # 9-11797289). State and higher education employees may contribute via the Washington Combined Fund Drive – charity #1479519.
We welcome donations from individuals and companies alike. If your company is interested in partnering with us, we’d love to collaborate! Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a significant impact. Together, we can inspire and empower students across Washington State, paving the way for a bright future in science and technology. Please consider making a donation today, and feel free to reach out for other donation options or if you have any questions about how your donation of money or time can support our students.
Your Impact
Science Olympiad is extraordinary because it cultivates critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in a fun and interactive environment. Your donation helps cover essential costs such as competition materials, event logistics, and travel expenses for students and teams who might not otherwise have the means to participate. See what some of our current and former students and coaches have to say about their Washington Science Olympiad experience.
Coming into this tournament, I had nothing to do with physics. But through learning about it began to fall in love with it. So thank you so much since I discovered my passion for physics because of you.
Current Competitor
As someone who never really knew what they wanted to do when they grew up, participating in Crime Busters helped me realize my love for forensics. It was an amazing test and an amazing part of my life this year.

Thank you for taking time out of your life to design an event for students that challenged them and gave them the opportunity to stretch their intellectual ability as they studied for your event over the course of the year (or in the last two weeks in some cases). Even the students who score low still learned something from you just by being able to take your test or try to build a device that failed. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do!
Current High School Coach
Science Olympiad really helped solidify my interest in structure and science! While making new friends, overcoming anxiety and learning effective study habits, the program also served as an incredibly fun community event. Even at university, I continue to look back at my Science Olympiad years fondly, especially since I am still building projects for my program at college!
