These workshops are valuable opportunities to share expertise, make Science Olympiad more approachable for new teams, and enhance the competition experience for both teams and volunteers. We are eager to collaborate with anyone interested, whether you’d like to assist with a workshop or host your own, regardless of where you are in your planning process.
The Southwest region is hosting a Science Olympiad workshop for Division A coaches on September 26, 2026, 8:30-11:30 AM, Clark College. The workshop will be in-person. NOTE: Registration is limited to schools in the Southwest region. (Email swwascioly@gmail.com)
Annual Meeting
At the end of every season in early summer, the Board of Directors hosts its virtual Annual Meeting, which includes a coaches’ forum and an open meeting, both open to parents and coaches.
- The coaches’ forum celebrates teams’ achievements over the past season, previews the upcoming season, and provides a forum for coaches and parents to share their experiences and feedback.
- The open meeting reviews the state of Washington Science Olympiad, covering topics such as registrations, finances, and tournament partnerships. It reflects on the organization’s strengths, challenges, and future opportunities, with the newly elected board announced at the meeting’s conclusion.
Details about the Annual Meeting, including timing, meeting links, and board nominations (typically closing April 30), will be shared with coaches after the state tournament.
National Science Olympiad Summer Workshops
Every summer, Science Olympiad hosts a virtual event bootcamp and an in-person build clinic. These workshops allow coaches to get a head start on the upcoming season by covering the new event slate, providing attendees with early access to draft rules and insights from experienced speakers, including rules committee members and event supervisors from the National Tournament level. The in-person build clinic offers hands-on sessions with guidance from experienced Event Supervisors over several days.
Please note that these workshops, open only to teachers, coaches, volunteers, and tournament personnel, are organized at the national level and not by Washington Science Olympiad.
